Barbara Ross was born in St. Louis, Mo. At an early age, the family relocated to Pensacola, Florida where she was educated in the public school system. After high school, she moved to Washington D.C. where she worked as a bank teller for two years.
Barbara started her career in aviation when she was hired by Eastern Airlines in 1979 as a Flight Attendant. She remained with Eastern until they terminated their services in 1989. She then applied to USAirways and was hired in 1989 as a Flight Attendant until 2005.
In 2005, Barbara decided to start her own business so she left the airline, moved back to Pensacola to open an accessory boutique. The boutique only lasted for a few years because of the economy.
Barbara returned to flying with USAirways in 2011 where she is presently based in Charlotte, N.C., flying domestic and international trips. In 2013 USAirways was bought by American Airlines.
She is the co-founder of Aviation Dream Weavers, Inc., a 501c3 non profit organization which along with her husband, they started in 2016.
Presently married to Retired Captain Ozzie Ross and they reside in Griffin, Ga.
